About Us

We are the Wood County Education Association.  Our organization serves multiple purposes.

  • We work to ensure the full and effective participation of all members, thereby establishing and maintaining a relationship of mutual assistance and cooperation.
  • We encourage active participation of classroom teachers in the solution of educational problems.
  • We promote continuous improvement of instruction and curriculum.
  • We promote and protect the rights and welfare of members.
  • We work to advance professional rights and to enhance professional responsibilities in order to further the consistent development and improvement of the profession and its practitioners.
  • We work among the citizens of Wood County and of West Virginia for support of education and for improved attitudes toward the profession.
  • We work to secure adequate financial support for public education.
  • We work to promote the rights and welfare of all students, recognizing that rights also entail responsibilities.
  • We work to provide assistance to each student in realizing her or his maximum potential.
  • We develop and provide leadership in solving social problems.
  • We provide protection and support for the rights of members as employees in disputes with employers.
